People First Consult is looking for a Route Optimization Manager – for one of its clients – an international FMCG Company.

Position: Route Optimization Manager

Reports to: GTM Manager

Location:  Addis Ababa

Contract Type: Regular

Main purpose of the job:

Route Optimization Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Sales, through Managing Sales Trucks and Drivers operations in the retail market. Will be responsible to see overall aspects of product distribution in the retail trade, starting from hiring Sales drivers to planning routes and ensuring all routes are serviced asper the program and vehicles are properly maintained.

As the role needs a high level of integration across the full commercial team and distribution team, Route optimization  manager needs to partner and work with different stakeholders in the company  to deliver excellent customer services.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Improve sales team efficiency in trade by evaluating and implementing sales Technology.
  • Support Sales Leaders Make a Data driven decision.
  • Manage Sales drivers on their daily operations and activities in trade.
  • Follow up on daily route assignments to ensure servicing customers asper the company standard and expectations.
  • Manage on time delivery of products in the market and Route performance.
  • Identify gaps and propose the most cost-efficient distribution model
  • Analyze route productivity and make suggestions on different distribution mechanics.
  • Ensure Proper loading, offloading, and delivering of the required product for the route.
  • Conducting training sessions on topics such as customer service and safety procedures
  • Truck and ensure delivery team members perform as per expectation.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly sales Drivers’ team meetings.
  • Establish and oversee productivity, service and safety targets for sales drivers.
  • Monitoring and managing the performance of sales drivers

Experience & Skills Required

  • Education: BA in Business administration, Commercial Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience working with sales, distributor management, Fleet management and GTM/RTM in FMCG sector
  • Fluent in Amharic and very good understanding of English (speaking and writing).
  • Analytical, structured way of working, strong communication and negotiation skills
