People First Consult is looking for a Sales Manager – Modern Trade for one of its clients – an international FMCG Company.

 

Position Details

Position: Sales Manager – Modern Trade

Reports to: Commercial Lead

Location:  Addis Ababa

Contract Type: Regular

Main Purpose

  • The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving or exceeding the Sales and Distribution objectives in the respective Region to ensure the achievement of the company’s business objectives and strategy.
  • He/ She develops and achieve or exceed the sales volume/revenue goals targets as defined in the Business Plan for the sales channels and control/monitor the Sales budget to ensure optimum allocation of resources to different businesses of the company.
  • Besides, she/he coordinate with the Marketing Division to ensure marketing tools are provided to the trade to increase brand visibility and thereby achieve business objectives.
  • The Sales Manager motivates and leads a High-Performance Sales Team.
  • Check individual performances of the Sales Team and motivate them, either through personal counseling and/or imparting training in tactical selling skills to improve and enhance their capabilities and sales per

Accountabilities

  • Create a transparent, data-driven work environment.
  • Report sales performance on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
  • Develop and maintain productive long-term relationships with our customers.
  • Set up and own internal and external processes for effective customer and sales management.
  • Contribute to the development of a knowledge-based working environment regarding market
  • trends/developments, consumers, customers, competitors, etc.
  • Work cross-functional with other departments.
  • To spend 65% of your time in the market

Key Performance Indicators

  • The Sales Manager is responsible for the Modern Trade and Whole Channel in Addis Ababa.
  • Accountable for reaching the sales target: volume sales, numeric distribution, drop-size per customer.
  • Managing and motivating the sales team and responsible for daily management of the sales team, including tracking individual sales performance and team sales performance.
  • Responsible for Everyday Great Execution of in-store merchandising.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Education: BA in Business administration, Marketing Management, and related fields.
  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience as an (area) sales manager in the FMCG sector.
  • Technical skills: Solid leader with managerial experience, good understanding of RTM, good planner, structured way of working, analytic, and very strong.
  • Strong and proven administration and organizational skills
  • Credit management experience
  • Can adhere to strict timelines and deadlines
  • Can sell our products outside and be able to keep up with internal admin demands
  • Must have Shopper marketing experience
  • Language: Fluent in Amharic and very good understanding of English (speaking and writing).
  • Solid knowledge of the market
  • Category Management experience advantageous
  • Ability to develop a market.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Keen to develop and unlock new opportunities.
  • Good admin and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategy.
  • Ability to follow up and follow through on projects.
  • Work closely with SM AFH and DX Lead.
  • Social skills: Responsible, convincing, a good networker, serious, hard-working, eager to learn & receive feedback, and a can-do mentality.
  • Experience in FMCG Sales with proven success
